Teachers can never have enough resources. Our students are dynamic and unique individuals and we must be ever-changing to adapt to their needs. Lucky for educators of the 21st century, through the use of technology, our resources are endless. Today I want to shed light to a few tools that may be great for any classroom. First off is metaatem.net, this site generated my ‘EDUCATION’ sign posted above. You simply type in any word and a random assortment of photographs are put together to give your word a unique look. This tool would be wonderful for classroom decorations or bulletin boards. The next item on my list is Tagxedo.com, this site allows its users to pick a shape and then it automatically fits a list of words into that shape. The hand below demonstrates a Tagxedo product. This website could be used for a variety of purposes. Specifically for the hand shape, each student could generate a few words to describe themselves then the words could be compiled into the shape to represent a family or bond within the class, everyone interwoven. Besides classroom pride, students could use this site to demonstrate what they have learned. For example, they could use the shape of a particular state with short descriptions or facts within it. My last website it displayed below in the black box. It is called Wordle and while this site creates unique conglomerations of words, it has other uses. The more a word is used the larger it becomes in the picture, hence why my name appears so large. I included it three times. A student can use this site to see what words they may overuse or use often within a paper. They simply copy a paste words into a text box, press ‘Go’, and wa-lah, their wordle is created! All these resources are free and simple tools that may come in handy in any classroom!
